Came to the distillery after a long drive for the whisky festival and the shop stock is beyond a joke. No special bottles or any different stock to previous times poor show for such a massive distillery. Only open 2 days to the public as the rest of the week its open to selected clientele. Not really interested in any public looking for special bottles they prefer to offer them to the ones paying for the extortionate tour and private parties. Money talks.

Amazing experience! We came for lunch and then spent a further two hours in the bar upstairs. The lunch was amazing and very good value compared to what you pay in similar high end restaurants these days. The service was spot on from the staff and very professional. The food was equally impressive with a nice touch of using local ingredients as well as some that relate to whisky production.
The bar upstairs very relaxing and we enjoyed a couple of drams each over a two hour period. The ambience was perfect with just the right amount of people around to make it feel like a special experience. I would say that it would be better to book a place for lunch or on a tour as they really try to focus on providing a great experience for the planned guests.
There is not necessarily a huge amount for 'walk in' customers to do although I would always recommend seeing the place as it is fantastic, more a word of advice not to get your hopes up to be shown some sort of in depth tour or tasting off the cuff as this is not what they are geared up for. We will definitely be visiting again!

Relatively new, but set into the landscape of the Maccallan estate that has been distilling the world's leading single malt since 1824. It is frankly a modern state of the art architecture. The sceneries from the bar space is fascinating. I did not have the chance to do the tour experience. Do not miss to take a photo on your way out from the top road: one of the only Scottish broch inspired distilleries you would ever see. A not to be missed experience.

The best whisky distillery in the world. We visited other distilleries on our Scotland trip but nothing could compare to the Macallan Estate. We enjoyed a lovely dining experience before going on a tour. Our guide, Zoe, was so knowledgeable and welcoming! We cannot wait to arrange a trip here again soon.
