Worst, most disorganized mess I've ever seen. Been to slot of airshows including here years ago. 3 hours in traffic with no police or military personnel directing traffic, no routes designated. Finally on the base, then routed back off the base to a baseball park to park miles away. Never coming back.

We went to the airshow 3 years ago. Everything went smooth as silk. It was amazing show! This year, was absolutely ridiculously terrible! Traffic was backed up for miles! We waited 2 1/2 hours in morning traffic! We finally turned around and went to a beach area to try and watch. The view was terrible. We could barely see them! Not sure what was up with the terrible traffic situations. very unorganized.

Gate Hours! Why can't we get the hours for these standardized & published on ONE source that is kept up to date? Why is there so much conflicting info? Why is the Bayshore gate randomly closed? Why is this so hard? Been asking for years and perception is no one cares! Maybe the base commander will read this. Situation doubtful.

Went on this Air Force base for the first time with my retired marine uncle and it was nice mini city! It's a huge military base with a mall, grocery store, marina, beach, golf course, parks, and camper area. I personally went shopping for a new athletic white shirt to replace my old shirt that was wore out and got lunch in the food court area. I love the no taxes on shopping.
Food - subway, Charley's Philly Steak, Taco Bell and chicken slims. I would prefer a healthy option like chipotle or Zoe's kitchen in the food court. In the express shopping area do have a fitting room in the back near the kids section. In the exchange area you have under amour, Adidas, Columbia and vineyard vines. Relaxing spots- parks, golf courses, and nice walking path. If you visit please check out the beach because it's beautiful and nice. Overall, if you have a military connection or are military this is a must visit military base.

I've been to the Airshow the last few years and it just keeps getting better. They've started to add a bit of drama with a simulated bomb, smoke and fire. Dramatic stuff! The amount of planes is off the chart and the years that span history are even more incredible. Depending on the year, the Blue Angels are always a super cool treat! There isn't just a show and planes to tour on the tarmac but to walk through the stages areas is also a great way to meet military personnel and to ask questions. All in all it's pretty amazing and ok for just about every age. Might want to bring earplugs or headphones for the kiddos!
