At some point in early 2021, I applied for a job through Skillsearch. I dealt almost exclusively with a female employee with the initials KJ, who I found very frustrating to deal with. On many occasions I gave very clear indications as to the times I could interview, yet interviews were scheduled for times I could clearly not facilitate. I then accepted a different job (one I found myself, not through Skillsearch), and so I updated my preferences and asked to be removed from the database.
Yet I continued to get calls and emails from the aforementioned staff member (clearly as part of some mailing list) that could not be less relevant if they tried. Recruiters in the tech space have no understanding of languages, and thus think if you have experience with language X, you are an expert in language Y. I was then on holiday, months into accepting my new job, when I received four emails from the aforementioned staff member about jobs.
The most frustrating thing that recruiters do, is call you up, and after you inform them you are working elsewhere, they then ask where you are working. I honestly can not think of a recruitment company I found more infuriating to deal with. I would use the word 'parasite' to describe Skillsearch, and I will happily never apply for a job through them again.
